Thank you for visiting my gallery-online

New friends inevitably ask me, “When did you decide to be an artist”, my honest answer is I do not remember when I ever made the deliberate decision to become an artist.

I do remember when I was a little girl, on our farm in Western Colorado, the beauty of everything about our earth mother. I remember the sounds, feel, and smells of the breezes, the mountains, skies and all the animals. I remember my desire to some how take it all home with me to show everyone and enjoy all the time.

Some referred to my “condition” as “silly daydreaming”. When most little girls were being introduced to homemaking skills by their mothers, I literally “lived” out doors as much as I was allowed.

I am very fortunate for the influences of my father’s Indian heritage and culture, the love, understanding and patience of both parents. I did not become aware until later in life of my mother’s ancestry including renowned artist John Singer Sargent. I was simply encouraged to follow my path and to discover my own way.

From the earliest times of drawing with a stick in the dirt with my Dad, through the evolution of crayons, watercolors, colored pencils and all other sorts of experiments, I did develop a method to take it all home with me.

During this journey, I became aware of the terms “art” and “artist”. I majored in the arts for my “formal” education, they taught all the mechanics necessary for composition, color, technique, and on-and-on. However, akin to a musician, it is up to each individual to develop the “feel” for what you do and breathe that life feeling into the composition.

I am most grateful to have studied and worked with so many excellent mentors along my way and value highly these continuing relationships of learning, exchange, and growth. I thank you everyone for what we share.

Thank you, welcome visitor for being here. Enjoy yourself.
I hope you find something that reaches out to you
I have created it especially for you.
